How to write on someone’s wall on Twitter?

I just joined. So how do I write on someone’s wall on Twitter without replying to one of their tweets?
I’ve tried:
at begininng of tweet put @username
at beginning of tweet put @username:
and so one .. but then I go to their page and its not posted on their wall .. WHAT DO I DO?!

Lost my phone (blackberry). How to prevent access to twitter, facebook, and hotmail account?

the SIM card has been shut down but i am uncomfortable with the fact that they could access my twitter account (via Twitter for Blackberry and UberTwitter) and my facebook or hotmail account (via Web Browser). Will changing the passwords on my laptop sign them off from my phone? thanks.
