I’ll type their names into the "Find People " area and they don’t come up. So then I’ll try typing in their username, still nothing. The same thing happened when they tried to find me. All of our accounts are confirmed.

Yes because it could just be a error or maybe you used it once on the "twitter" website, but no matter what you have to make a new email.

when you’re on your twitter home page there is a button in the left column that says @yourusername and when you click it it shows you every tweet at you. everyone has it, so yes they will see it.
