What app should i use to make a photo collage for my twitter background?

I made this awesome background for my twitter page and it keeps saying that it’s not a photo. what application should i use so that i can remake this background on something else so that it’ll work? I do have a mac is that makes a difference.
That does not involve paying or downloading.
