What are the basic codings for HTML?

By malmy at 11 December, 2012, 12:25 pm

I am rusty with HTML coding, and I wanted to know some basics. What is the code for a background, an image, seperating the text, changing color of the text, putting a direct video on a page, basic stuff like that.
Is twitter background focused on CSS or HTML?
Also, html profile layouts for like gaia and places like that. I use to make them in…5th grade but I haven’t made one in sooo long I don’t even remember how to anymore.

If you have time to wait I will post these answers. Take about a week, Go to W3Schools for html coding. You need far too much detail to help you here, especially for video linking.

Now most of the sites including twitter uses CSS.
Do read some tutorials at w3schools.com

Background: use CSS inside tags
Images: Image tags.
Separating text: divs & tables (they suck)
Changing color: CSS
Video: embedding? maybe?
that’s not all that basic, actually…. CSS takes a lot of patience and experimentation to master.
Also, HTML without CSS looks boring. CSS without HTML doesn’t exist. Twitter is probably an image used with HTML & CSS using styled divs to create the menus, but also probably has a crap-ton of PHP and javascript for all the functionality stuff.

You need to learn HTML, CSS, and Javascript before you can really do anything, then PHP is pretty useful in the real world. There are /millions/ of tutorials out there. The search bar is your friend.
